SPA INTEX PureSpa: Characteristics of the PureSpa range

Inflatable bubble spa for a good start

INTEX offers spas of various shapes. These spas are classic and effective. Inflatable spas are now on everyone’s mind. Opting for an inflatable spa is making a serious and non-risky choice. This spa will easily fit into your home or garden. It then remains to choose the color and adapt it to your living environment in an adequate manner. The major advantage of an inflatable spa lies mainly in the amount of the initial investment. Nothing like starting with an inflatable spa to test the use and maintenance of this equipment. At a low price, you will be able to realize the advantages and disadvantages of using a spa. If you’re hooked on hot tub practice, there’s nothing stopping you from taking it to the next level later with an investment in a hardside hot tub worth several thousand dollars.

Round, square or octagonal spa

The PureSpa range offers several shapes of Intex spas to best suit your needs. You can opt for the round INTEX inflatable spa and thus target a perfect entry-level model for a first purchase. Lovers of more contemporary design will find what they are looking for with the INTEX Baltik spas and their wood color or the latest Chevron and Calacatta models. Finally, to increase your fullness even more, you can also opt for this wonderful sand model with the Sahara bubble spa.

INTEX also offers square spas. These spas are available in different colors. The Slate and Carbon models shake up the codes and offer a square or octagonal geometry. These shapes are ideal for extending and livening up your long summer or winter evenings.

Salt treatment

INTEX has been able to integrate a salt treatment system so that you can free yourself from cleaning products. The salt sterilizer that accompanies INTEX filtration systems eliminates all bacteria and algae while respecting your health.

The use and the adjustment is easy and without constraint. You can even control your INTEX spa remotely using the dedicated INTEX Link-Spa Management application. The configuration of the filtration and heating mode can be carried out from any place and at any time of the day or night.

4 seater spa or 6 seater spa

As a first approach, you can opt for an INTEX 4-seater inflatable spa and thus target an entry-level model that is perfect for a first purchase. This spa is accessible to all budgets and allows you to enjoy the bubbles with your family. For couples without children, this type of spa is ideal.
Increasingly popular, 6 seater hot tubs offer wider family use and ensure you have a great time with your loved ones. A 6-person spa is very easy to install and use. These 4 or 6 seater INTEX spas can be placed on the lawn or on a terrace. The 6-seater PureSpa models are designed and planned for an evening with friends. These models are more spacious.

Recognized worldwide, INTEX spas are among the most reliable spas on the market. In addition to the quality of the Fibertech structure, you can count on an efficient heating system as well as efficient filtration. By acquiring an INTEX inflatable spa, you will be making an excellent choice, full of serenity, without risk.

The PureSpa range will therefore satisfy everyone: 4-seater spa, 6-seater spa, bubble spa, jet spa, round spa, square spa or even octagonal spa.

Why choose an INTEX PureSpa inflatable spa

In summer, when the heat weighs it is natural to try to swim. It’s nice and refreshing. In addition to this advantage, the SPA will give you all the benefits of a balneotherapy session.

Benefits of a hot tub:

The benefits of the spa are numerous. The price first of all, which does not suffer from any comparison between the investment in an inflatable spa, a rigid spa or a swimming pool. The footprint of the spa is reduced. Again, no comparison possible with the space required by a swimming pool, for example. Maintenance is also a key factor. No need to explain to you the difference between treating and maintaining the capacity of a spa compared to that of a swimming pool of several m3 of water. The use is often forgotten. Nothing prevents you from using your spa in winter, spring or fall. This is absolutely not the case with a swimming pool. Would you like to swim in winter?

Pleasure and conviviality of the spa:

It is now possible to treat yourself to real balneotherapy at home. Your inflatable spa will be able to produce water at a relaxing temperature. It will also diffuse thousands of bubbles and massage your body with these different adjustable jets. In water heated to an ideal temperature that will make you release all your tensions, you can benefit from a massage while remaining peacefully installed at home, in your garden, your terrace or even under a veranda or a sheltered place in your home.

The inflatable spa therefore goes further than any other means and offers you a complete massage system that you will no longer be able to do without. This pleasure can be shared with many. With your friends, relatives and children, what wonderful moments of relaxation spent discussing subjects and others within your spa.

Spa Adaptability

A major advantage of the inflatable spa is its ability to adapt geographically: In the garden, on the terrace, in the veranda, you will be spoiled for choice to install it where you wish. The inflatable Spa is lightweight and easy to install. You can therefore move it and enjoy your spa in various places in your home, or in different parts of the garden. This is clearly impossible with a built swimming pool and almost impossible with a rigid spa that weighs several hundred kg. The inflatable spa therefore moves according to your desires and is easy to install provided that the ground is stable and level. In a few minutes your spa will inflate and your installation will be operational.

Because the water temperature is adjustable, the spa also adapts to all seasons to offer you a moment of relaxation and relaxation. With its insulating inflatable cover you can even keep the water temperature at a high level even in winter. What a pleasure to swim in water at 39 degrees in freezing weather under a starry sky. Unlike a swimming pool, you can therefore enjoy the relaxing benefits of this balneotherapy at home and at a low price all year round.

To conclude

To conclude, the inflatable spa therefore offers you a very long list of advantages. It is easy to install, maintain and store. Its mobility indoors or outdoors is unparalleled. Its balneotherapy and body care service, not to mention the memorable moments of sharing that you will experience around your spa, make it a must. It is therefore high time to take care of yourself and treat yourself every day of the year.

The different types of INTEX PureSpa inflatable spas

Inflatable bubble spa

A bubble spa is equipped with more than a hundred bubble diffusers located in the bottom of the spa. A simple press on the dedicated function on the control panel triggers the sending of hot air into the diffusers. This has the effect of generating bubbles that naturally rise to the surface. You will get a soft and relaxing massage effect on the whole submerged body.

Like a traditional spa, the inflatable bubble spa offers you a relaxing effect. The water can be heated to the temperature of your choice.

Inflatable spa with jets

A jet spa, the number of which varies depending on the model, uses nozzles that propel hot water from the spa water previously filtered by passing through the filtration system. These jets can be steerable and adjustable. You will thus choose their intensity and the direction of the water jet on your body.

This function allows you to target a particular part of the body to apply a hydrodynamic and invigorating massage. This is perfect for soothing muscle pain and promoting blood circulation.

Inflatable bubble and jet spa

Some inflatable spas, such as the INTEX Purespa octagonal 4-seater inflatable spa model, have both technologies. The bubbles and the jets are produced in order to offer you the possibility of alternating the type of massage associated with each function. It is therefore important to specify that it is indeed a question here of choosing a technology between both bubbles and jets because the two cannot operate simultaneously.

How an INTEX PureSpa inflatable hot tub works

Inflatable spas are very resistant spas designed in PVC. Once inflated, they become rigid like any bricked or rigid hot tub. This rigidity and this resistance make it possible to sit on the edge of the inflatable spa without deforming its structure.

The motor unit must be connected to the electrical network. It can be connected using an electric cable to be plugged into an electrical outlet in the house for its voltage and operation. The motor unit is then connected to the inflatable structure of the spa using connecting pipes.

The engine block includes:

  • The filtration system,
  • The water heating system,
  • The bubble air diffuser system and massage jets

A control panel on the engine block allows you to set the water temperature you want. This panel also allows you to activate the filtration as well as the bubble diffusers or the massage jets. Inflatable spas therefore offer the same functions as a masonry spa with the only difference that their structure is inflatable.

Advice

It is strongly recommended to drain the spa, clean it and properly dry all its components before winterizing it. Then simply deflate it and store it away. Inflatable spas are not necessarily suitable for freezing temperatures and winter weather. Properly folded up, you can store your spa without needing too much storage space. Your inflatable spa will be able to operate for several years without any problem if you take care of its proper maintenance.

Installation of an inflatable PureSpa INTEX spa

Installing an inflatable spa is within everyone’s reach by following the instructions provided with your equipment in order.

The essential steps for installing an inflatable hot tub are:

  • Unpacking the box,
  • The installation of the inflatable spa and the engine block,
  • Connecting a power supply to the engine block,
  • Spa inflation,
  • The connection of the pipes between the spa and the engine block,
  • Installation of the filter cartridge,
  • Filling the spa with water.

Unpacking…

The packaging containing the inflatable structure must not be cut during opening. This is why it is important not to use a knife or cutter on any part of the cardboard. It is better to take your time unpacking each component than to frenziedly damage the spa shell while opening it.

Installation …

Next, lay out the floor mat for your inflatable hot tub where you want to install your hot tub. Then place the unfolded inflatable structure on the floor mat. Then place the motor unit next to the connections of the pipes to be connected to the spa.

Check that you can connect to an electrical outlet and to which you will plug your motor unit. The electrical outlet must correspond to the standards as well as to the power required to supply this type of motor.

You can then inflate your spa using the inflator built into the motor block. Follow all the connection instructions detailed in the user guide.

Getting started…

Once inflated, your spa can connect to the motor unit. You then install the filter cartridge. Check that the drain plugs are properly closed. Proceed to fill the inflatable spa. Once the water pipe is opened in the spa, regularly check the water level. Stop when the required water level reaches the mark located inside your spa.

You will then activate the water heating using the control panel. Only a few hours after this installation, you can inaugurate your inflatable spa during an evening with friends or family.

Starting up and maintaining an INTEX PureSpa inflatable spa

Using and maintaining an inflatable hot tub doesn’t take much effort if you follow the operating instructions.

Use

To power up the motor unit, simply plug it into an electrical outlet delivering a voltage of 220 V. For greater safety, the presence of an earth outlet is strongly recommended. In addition, INTEX inflatable spas are equipped with a circuit breaker. For your spa to operate properly without cuts from the circuit breaker, avoid plugging it into unsuitable extension cords or multiple sockets.

When your inflatable hot tub is finally plugged in, you can heat up the water. To do this, follow the instructions in the user manual for the control panel. INTEX spa control panels are very intuitive. They have separate control buttons for filtration, water heating and activation of bubble diffusers or massage jets.

Maintenance

Regarding the maintenance of your inflatable spa, we recommend the use of bromine or active oxygen. Hot water neutralizes the disinfectant effects of chlorine. Chlorine is therefore not recommended for an inflatable spa. Bromine unlike chlorine is an effective water disinfectant even when the water exceeds 30 degrees. Active oxygen is less aggressive for the skin, but it represents a higher cost than bromine.

Don’t forget to change your filter cartridges. For intensive use of your inflatable spa during the summer season, plan to change your filter cartridge 2 to 3 times a month.

Also check that your water is not too acidic or on the contrary too alkaline with the pH test strips. To rebalance the pH of your water, you can find pH+ or pH- products among the maintenance items for an inflatable spa.

Some inflatable spas such as the INTEX jets and bubbles brand offer a salt electrolysis system, which makes the maintenance phase much simpler.

Accessories for inflatable spas

Some spa accessories can make moments of relaxation very pleasant. Note for example:

  • headrests,
  • Lights or LEDs,
  • Glass holders.

Headrests as well as glass holders and lights are available accessories for INTEX inflatable spas. INTEX inflatable spas offer a multicolored LED mood light that attaches directly to the discharge nozzle. For evenings with friends or night swims, this inflatable spa accessory is a must. In addition to the headrest, you can also enjoy an INTEX inflatable spa seat with height adjustment.

Spa Matters

Seen on many articles on the net. This does not make it an absolute truth but it is always good to inquire.

What is the best spa brand?

INTEX.

INTEX thanks to its PureSpa models proves once again that it is the best in this sector of such special products. With its octagonal shape and its interior dimensions of 168 x 71 cm, the octagonal inflatable spa from INTEX can accommodate 6 people and is recognized as a world reference spa.

What is the lifespan of an inflatable hot tub?

On average the life expectancy of an inflatable spa is 5 years.

First of all, it is difficult to give a really precise figure concerning the lifespan of an inflatable spa. You will understand that this depends on many factors. Indeed, a well-maintained spa will logically have a longer life expectancy than a spa whose maintenance has been neglected. However, the manufacturers certify that an inflatable spa can last up to 5 years at most.

In reality, an inflatable spa has a lifespan that varies between 2 and 3 years. Sun and UV exposure plus the presence of all water treatment and cleaning products tends to degrade and attack the structure of the spa over time.

This life expectancy also depends on where your inflatable spa is positioned. An inflatable spa installed outdoors will be more exposed to bad weather and organic residues from its environment (leaves, branches, insects). On the other hand, an inflatable spa placed indoors will be protected from the weather and its condition is therefore not likely to deteriorate prematurely or too quickly.

What is the difference between a hot tub and a spa?

Jacuzzi is a spa brand. By abuse of language the term Jacuzzi has gradually become a word and a name of use to designate a spa. That is to say, a bubbling bath which thanks to small bubbles offers a unique massage.

Does an inflatable spa consume a lot of electricity?

After numerous tests carried out using a wattmeter over 17 days in June 2016, the electricity consumption of a 4-seater inflatable spa with jets reached 112 kW. This is approximately an expense of around 1 euro per day at the 2016 French electricity rate. This expense varies of course depending on the frequency of use of the spa and the cost of the kW.

Other sources specify that to heat the water but also to operate the filtration the consumption will vary according to the model and the size of the spa. On average, consumption is reported to be between 2,500 and 7,500 kWh per year for a 4-seater spa.

Can an inflatable spa be left outside during the winter?

The answer to this question is yes

You can absolutely use a semi-inflatable spa during the winter. The inflatable spa is designed to be used all year round which includes the winter season. On the other hand, most users find that the inflatable spa is not suitable for this period. The harsh climatic conditions make its use difficult for swimmers. The desire is not necessarily there. Therefore, it is rather advisable to bring your inflatable spa inside the house to continue using it warm.

Some spas have technology that automatically turns on the heater when the outside temperature drops below 6°C. This intelligent system prevents the water in the pond from freezing in order to avoid damage. In some cases, you can therefore use your spa without fear that the gel will damage it.

Does the spa always have to be plugged in?

After a bath the spa does not have to continue to run. An inflatable spa must filter the water regularly. But it is not necessary to filter the water throughout the day. It is best to let the system run for several hours. If you have to be away for several days in a row, it is better to empty the spa.

Risk of leaving a spa in the sun?

The effects of the sun on your inflatable hot tub are diverse. Prolonged exposure to the sun may cause water cloudiness such as the appearance of foam or green water. To avoid having to catch up with the water in your inflatable spa, you must ensure that the filtration time is sufficient.

However, beware of excess sun with an inflatable spa. Prolonged exposure could also affect the inflatable structure of your spa. Inflatable spas are designed with composites using PVC and polyester fibers. These materials offer good mechanical resistance but too much UV exposure degrades the structure. Sometimes excessive heat can also increase the inflation pressure of the spa. It is therefore important not to overinflate it at the risk of causing one or more deformations which could lead to deterioration of the envelope. If the sun is too strong, it is recommended to bring the inflatable spa indoors or to protect it from the sun under a shelter.
